Here are some frequently asked questions, and more importantly, answers!
Registration
- Are refunds or deferrals allowed?
- No. All sales are final.
- What if I can’t attend?
- We hope to see you next year!
- Will you mail me my t-shirt?
- Unfortunately, we're not able to mail swag. T-shirts must be picked up during packet pickup or on race day.
- Can I transfer my bib to someone else?
- Yes, but you need to let us know, and the new participant will need to sign a waiver before they participate.
- Can I switch distances?
- Yes, you can switch from the 5k to the 1 mile. If you wish to change from the 1 mile to the 5k, you'll need to pay the difference in the registration fee.
Packet Pickup & Bibs
- Do I need ID to pick up my packet?
- Yes.
- Can someone else pick it up for me?
- No. You will need to sign a wavier at packet pickup.
- What if I lose my bib?
- Let us know at packet pickup on race day, and we can assign you a new one.
- Is race-day packet pickup available?
Timing & Results
- Is the race timed?
- Yes. 2L Race Services is providing timing, and a running clock by the start / finish arch.
- Where will results be posted?
- Results will be posted on our website.
Course & Race Rules
- Is the course USATF-certified?
- No.
- What is the 5k course?

- What is the 1 mile course?
- Check our our description and course map.
- Is the route handicapped accessible?
- The 1 mile route is handicapped accessible. The 5k route includes both trail and road sections, as well as stairs.
- Are strollers allowed?
- Yes. Keep in mind that for the 5k, you'll be off-roading and there are stairs on the pedestrian bridge over Rte. 934. If you give us a heads up, we can have volunteers stationed there to assist with strollers as needed.
- Are pets allowed?
- We love your furry friends, but due to liability reasons, we cannot have pets on the course. Dogs are welcome to spectate!
- Are headphones permitted?
- We don't mind if you use headphones, just please be courteous of others and stay aware of your surroundings.
- What are the cutoff times?
- We'll be sending sweepers on each course half an hour after the start time. The event will be broken down by 11 AM.
Water Stations, Food, & Medical Support
- Will there be water stations?
- Yes, we will have water available on both the 5k and 1 mile routes and at the finish.
- Are there bathrooms on the course?
- We will have porta potties at the start, and participants can use the facilities at the Arnold Sports Center in an emergency.
- Is there medical support?
- Yes. We will have EMS and athletic training on site.
- What about food?
- We will have bananas at the finish line, and the Haj Paj Cafe food truck will be available from 7:30-10:30 with coffee and breakfast offerings.
Parking & Transportation
- Where should I park?
- Grass parking will be available off of Heisey Rd, and accessible spots will be reserved in the First Year lot for vehicles with handicap placards. You can see a map and directions here.
- What roads will be closed?
- A section of Heisey Rd will operate as a one-way street during the event, with campus safety officers directing traffic.
Gear Check & Facilities
- Is there a bag check?
- No.
- Are there changing areas or restrooms?
- Yes. We will have porta potties near our check in tent, including an ADA accessible option.
- Are there corrals or wave starts?
- Yes. The 1 mile walk will start 10 minutes before the 5k.
Awards & Swag
- What awards are given and in which categories?
- We have one award, the best dressed award, which will be bestowed at the beginning of the event. Wear your purple and show your spirit!
- Do all participants get a t-shirt?
- T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who registered before the swag deadline. Participants who registered after the deadline can receive t-shirts on a first-come, first-served basis as supplies last. Free registrants (ages 0-5) can purchase a t-shirt as supplies last.
- Do all participants get a medal?
- All finishers receive a medal at the finish arch!
Weather & Safety
- What happens if it rains?
- We get wet!
- What is the severe weather / cancellation policy?
- If a contingency plan is necessary, we will communicate with participants via email and social media.
Photos & Media
- Will race photos be available?
- Yes, we will have multiple photographers on site taking photos.
- How do I access them?
- Race photos will be posted on our website. You will also be able to upload your own photos.
Spectators
- Where can spectators watch?
- Spectators are welcome anywhere along the course.
- Are there good viewing points or finish line access rules?
- We recommend: 1) By the start / finish arch; 2) in front of the Arnold Sports Center; or 3) on the corner of Heisey Rd and the Arnold Sports Center parking near the football field.
- Can spectators buy swag?
- Yes, as supplies last!
Fundraising
- Is this a fundraiser?
- Yes, this event is a fundraiser for Covenant House Pennsylvania, a nonprofit that provides services to young adults experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, and other systemic injustices.
- Are participants require to fundraise or fundraise a certain amount?
- No.
- How can I donate?
- You can donate on our website, and the funds go directly to CHPA.
Sponsorship
- Can my company sponsor the event?
- Yes! Sponsors are critical to offset the operating costs of the event. You can learn more about sponsorship opportunities and complete an interest form on our website, or reach out to MoveAlong@lvc.edu with questions.
Volunteering
- Do you need volunteers?
- If you're interested in volunteering, please reach out to us at MoveAlong@lvc.edu. LVC students can sign up for volunteer positions directly using the Give Pulse system.
