What is a virtual run/walk? A virtual run is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. At your own pace, you can run, jog, walk, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. AABB and NBF encourage you to show your race pride in stride and post your photos, and videos on AABB’s social media, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. #AABB22.
Why virtual? In person events were cancelled due to Hurricane Ian. This is a wonderful alternative to continue supporting the Foundation and its mission to fuel innovation in transfusion medicine and biotherapies for the benefit of patients and donors.
When must I complete my run/walk? For this event you must complete your run (whatever distance you signed up for) from November 6-7, anytime and anywhere.
Where do I find the race playlist? You can find the participant-curated 2022 Run for Research playlist HERE.
What is RaceJoy? RaceJoy is a real-time, innovative race day experience! It’s an interactive app that will track your time via GPS. Check out more information HERE.
Is there a specific way to track our time? The NBF Virtual Run for Research, like most, is based on the honor system. You may track your time on RaceJoy, with another app on your phone, watch, or any fitness device of your choice.
How do I submit my time? It's not required that you submit your time, but if you would like to appear in the online results, as well as be able to access your finisher certificate, you will need to submit your time. You can do this by navigating to the Results Page, through the results link HERE, search for your name and add your time or via RaceJoy automatically after your run.
How do I print my race bib? When you receive your Registration Confirmation email, go to the bottom and you will see “Don’t forget to check out the virtual bib for your registration! You can view it and download it here:”
How do I get my Finisher Certificate? From the online Results Link HERE.
How and when should I expect to receive my t-shirt? If you register before October 24th, you should receive your shirt before the event. After that date, your t-shirt will ship within 2 weeks post event. Shirts will be mailed to the address provided at the time of registration. Due to the cost of postage, the Foundation cannot mail t-shirts internationally.
