"JEREMIAH HOUSE OF HOPE" 5K, 1-Mile, and 1-Hour 1-Mile Repeat Fun Run is a charity run to raise awareness and funding for the Sandhills Jeremiah Project. The Jeremiah 2911 House is a faith-based ministry that offers compassion, hope and help for single, pregnant women and single mothers with children facing homelessness, providing them with opportunities to have healthy, productive lives. The event will take place at 8:am on Saturday June 28, 2025, at Aberdeen Lake Park (301 Lake Park Crossing, Aberdeen NC). There are three race categories:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1-Mile Run/Walk
- 1-Hour 1-Mile Repeat Run/Walk
All events will run along a 1-mile loop around Aberdeen Lake, in Aberdeen, NC. The route is a scenic well maintained and well-marked trail. The race is simple, 5K complete 3 loops, the1-mile, complete 1 loop, and the 1-Hour Repeat complete as many 1-mile loops as you can in 1-hour!
The event will begin at 8AM on Saturday June 28, 2025.
Packet pickup will be the Night prior, Friday June 27, 2025, from 6:30-7:30 PM at “High Octane” coffee shop in Aberdeen NC. Same day registration and packet pickup will be available Saturday June 28, from 6:30am-7:30am.
This is a self-paced fun run/walk. The event is intended to build community wellness and resiliency. For the 1-Hour Repeat, run as many miles as you can in the prescribed time or until you decide to stop. The runner that covers the most distance in the prescribed time is declared the winner. Runners are allowed to run, walk, and rest as needed for the duration of the event. Laps will be recorded by the race organizers. The event organizer will have an aid station set up at the start finish line with water, Gatorade, and snacks. Participants can set up personal tents, tables, and aid stations in the park area by the start finish.
There will be prizes for the top male and female in each event category.
Things to do for families and spectators. Aberdeen Park offers plenty of scenic hiking trails, playgrounds, and fishing. The nearby towns of Aberdeen, Southern Pines, and Pinehurst offer plenty of shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops.
Weather: June weather in Moore County is typically warm to hot with pleasant morning temperatures. The temperatures during the race period should range from lower 70ss to low 80s and reaching low 90s by mid-day. We may catch the typical summer shower.
All participants will receive an official race t-shirt and finishers medal. T-shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations after June 14, 2025.
