Description
National Trails Day is an American Hiking Society initiative to get people out in our public lands! Join us Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Morrow Mountain State Park to hike to the top of Morrow Mountain (6 miles total, moderate) and back. Morrow Mountain is part of the Uwharrie Mountain chain and is the highest peak in Stanly County at 936 ft. We will provide water and fruit at the entrance near the museum and at the top of Morrow Mountain Scenic Vista, Shelter A. Please dress for the weather, wear good hiking boots and bring other supplies you may need. Take your time, get to know other hikers and log your miles on the NC 100 mile Challenge! We are partnered with Atrium Health, Stanly Health Foundation and Food Lion of Richfield.
Please meet next to the museum to check-in before 8 am if you plan to participate in this FREE event!
