I Ran Alone For A Worthy Cause

The I Ran Alone 5K Finale to Benefit the SCCM will be held starting at 7:00  am at Vac & Dash in Albemarle.  We will have refreshments for when you finish.

Here's the details:

1) Vac & Dash will open at 7:00 am Saturday May 30th.

2) Stop by Vac & Dash anytime from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon.  You can register for the I Ran Alone 5K in advance or Saturday.  

3) Run the marked 5K Route - Vac & Dash to the turnaround point that will be marked at Rock Creek Park and return back to Vac & Dash.

4) There is no set start time. You can start anytime you get here between 7:00 am to noon.

5) Bring a bag of canned goods for the Stanly Community Christian Ministry and get a $5.00 gift certificate from Vac & Dash.

6) $30.00 entry includes a t-shirt or tank top, plus a drawstring back.  $10.00 of each entry goes to the SCCM..

The Vac & Dash I Ran Alone To Benefit the Stanly County Christian Ministry is a social distance event to benefit a worthy cause. Vac & Dash has added a unique twist to this virtual run/walk.

In mid-March, when races were cancelled and postponed, our staff at Vac & Dash toyed with the idea of having a virtual run. Since our inception in 2004, our mission has been to give back to our community.  

The North Carolina coronavirus lockdown has had an impact on so many families and non-profits.  One of those organizations is the Stanly Community Christian Ministry and their food pantry.  With the increase in demand for food assistance coupled with the temporary shutdown of the SCCM Clothing Closet, funds and food are low for the Stanly Community  Christian Ministry.

Entry Fee & Vac & Dash Twist

Your $30.00 entry fee includes a I Ran Alone t-shirt or tank top and a 14" x 18" I Ran Alone drawstring bag.   You can pick up your t-shirt and drawstring bag at Vac & Dash or we can ship it to you for $3.00.

* $10.00 of your entry fee will be donated to the SCCM.  

*Fill up your drawstring back with non-perishable food items to drop off at Vac & Dash for our food drive for the SCCM and we will give you a $5.00 coupon off your next purchase at Vac & Dash.  Also, we will put your name in a drawing for prizes from Vac & Dash.  Prizes include a free pair of shoes, Vac & Dash Wall Clock and more.

* If you don't live in Stanly County, you can drop off your food at a food bank in your area.  Send an e-mail to peter@vacanddash.com and let us know when you do, who you donated the food to and the approximate weight of the food.  

* Vac & Dash will have a give-a-way drawing for participants each time we reach 100 participants in our virtual run/walk.

* In addition to food donations, Vac & Dash is also accepting donations for the Stanly Community Christian Ministry.  A $20.00 donation will provide food for a family of four for a  week.   For each $20.00 donation you give, you will have your name in a drawing for a free pair of shoes and more prizes from Vac & Dash.

LOCATION:

Your own neighborhood.  Remember to remain 6-feet apart if you are running with a friend.

5K  You can run or walk it.
