Dog Days of Summer 5K

Hi!  My name is Angel Mesimer and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I am a rising Senior at Gray Stone Day School where I have been a member of the Cross Country team since my Freshman year.  I am an avid animal lover and it is my aspiration to attend college and become a Veterinarian.  I have been a volunteer at the Stanly County Humane Society since my Freshman year as well.  While deciding what my Senior Project should be, I knew I wanted to combine what is closest to my heart, my love for animals and running.  What better way to do this, than to have a benefit “Dog Days of Summer 5K” with all proceeds and donations going directly to the Stanly County Humane Society! This event will begin and end at the Stanly County YMCA Park. Everyone is welcome to bring their dogs and enjoy some time running through our beautiful town.  The Humane Society will also be there with some wonderful pets that are looking for a loving home.  Please take a few moments to visit with them on the day of the race and consider adopting one of these special animals.                                                         Thank you for your support of me and my Senior Project as well as the Stanly County Humane Society.
