Description

This clinic is intended for the novice or first-time triathlete.  No previous knowledge of the rules or how triathlons are organized is required.  Attendance at this clinic will help you build confidence in yourself and remove the "fear of the unknown" before the race starts by teaching you all you need to know, and most importantly, help you truly enjoy your experience racing triathlon.

Taught by an experienced athlete and coach this two-hour clinic where will discuss planning for race day, rules to follow and how to transition from one leg to the next.  We will talk about building packing lists, race and nutrition plans, and race strategy (how hard to go, when, and for how long).  We will "pretend" walk through an entire day at a race from the minute you wake up, through parking, race setup, race finish, etc. We will address transitions - what to bring, how to set it up, and what to expect on race day.  We will detail the 10 most violated rules of the sport, including drafting and blocking; as well as review the most common mistakes made by novice triathletes and how to avoid them.  Did you ever think to wash your hands after applying sunscreen (and before you touched the inside of your goggles)?  If not, your eyes might burn the entire swim.  We've got many tips and tricks along these lines, and we’re certain you will learn much from this clinic!
