Where Will the Proceeds Go?

All the proceeds from this event will go to further developing our Y.E.S. Chef! Youth Culinary Program. This is one of our Brighter Futures Youth Enrichment Service programs, and is designed to bring local talent to our WNC restaurant/hospitality community while investing in Asheville’s future culinary artisans. We team up four high school students with the chef at a participating restaurant where he/she mentors them in the fundamentals of culinary technique. While working in the restaurant they learn to create two healthy food items that are presented in our culinary competition. The program has been so successful that several of the young adults who participated are now working in restaurants at The Biltmore. To learn more about the program and all that The Joseph Initiative is doing, please visit our website at https://josephcommunitycenter.org/our-programs/

The Joseph Initiative is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is building programs that focus on commonalities and collaboration, so our youth are better equipped to become thriving community members who care for their neighbors. Your registration free may qualify as a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes. We advise you to consult with your tax advisers or the IRS to determine whether your charitable contribution is deductible.
