War Pony 5K Cancelled
After much consideration and out of concern for the safety and health of our runners, volunteers, and spectators, we have made the decision to cancel the War Pony 5K scheduled for May 16, 2020 due to the uncertainty of closures regarding COVID-19. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at next years event.

Description
We are excited to host our third annual War Pony 5K race at Carrier Park in Asheville, N.C. Runners will run on paved and dirt paths around Carrier Park and the Hominy Creek Trail. The course runs along predominately flat trails that parallel the French Broad River.
The race will start and finish in the Velodrome (what was originally the old speedway).

Strollers are welcome, no dogs on the course please.
All proceeds raised from the War Pony 5K will go directly toward fitness stations around our track at W.D. Williams for our students and community to use.
Registration fees:
$15.00 for runners 12 years of age and under.
$25.00 for runners 13 years to 64 years of age.
$20.00 for runners 65 years of age and older.
Register by April 27, 2020 to avoid a price increase.
Late registration fees:
$20.00 for runners 12 years of age and under.
$30.00 for runners 13 years 64 years of age.
$25.00 for runners 65 years of age and older.
Customized medals will be given to the first male and female finisher, first male and female master finisher and top three male and female runners in each age group.
Age Groups:
12 and under
13-19 years of age
20-29 years of age
30-39 years of age
40-49 years of age
50-59 years of age
60 and older.
Register by April 27th to be guaranteed a T-Shirt.
Online registration closes on May 15th at 6pm.
Packet Pick-Up will be on Saturday beginning at 7:45 am.
Day of registration: payments of cash or check only.
The race is made possible through the coordination of W.D. Williams Elementary School, W.D. Williams Elementary School PTO, W.D. Williams Fit Girls running club, and community volunteers and sponsors. Timing provided by Right on Time Productions.
