Why "Other's" Day?
First, we love moms. Moms are the best. But we also want to celebrate all the amazing women that support and inspire us everyday. Grandmothers. Granddaughters. Sisters. Aunts. Nieces. Mentors. Besties. Daughters. and yes, Mothers.
The Other's Day 5K is a chance to celebrate and honor "the village". So join us and rep the Others that have and continue to make a difference in your life. 💜
What is The Other's Day 5K?
Join us at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens outdoor recreation trails to celebrate Mothers and Others who are all the special women in your lives.
Race registration includes triblend race shirt in your choice of unisex or women's cut, finisher medal, post race food, drinks and vendor fair. That's not all! 5K participants will also receive 50% off access to the Gardens (valid only on race day).
This event benefits Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, a 501c3 non profit organization that relies on membership, donations and private funding to operate and serve the community.
Bring the whole family for the Kids Dash following the 5K! The Kids Dash course is a loop around the lake near the start/finish line, so parents can hang out and enjoy the post-race festivities while keeping an eye on the little ones as they dash!
Who can run The Other's Day 5K?
EVERYONE! Yes, we think of The Other's Day 5K as the unofficial start of Mother's Day week. Yes, The Other's Day 5K is designed to celebrate all the amazing women in our lives. But this isn't just a race for women. All genders and all paces are invited to take part in this wonderful event.
What's the course for The Other's Day 5K?
The majority of our 5K course runs along the outdoor recreation trails at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. So yes, this is a trail race, but the team at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens maintains some of the smoothest trails around. About half of the course is on true "trails", and the other half is on a beautiful crushed gravel path. You don't need to be an avid or experienced trail runner to enjoy the 5K. All 3.1 miles promise beautiful scenery and a quiet natural route.
Is there a time limit?
No! When we say all paces are welcome, we mean it. Since the course follows the nature trails at the Gardens, runners/walkers can be comfortable moving at their own pace.
