A Thanksgiving Day Tradition

The Turkey Trot 5K is a family-favorite tradition that takes place on Thanksgiving morning before all of the festivities begin for the day. Be sure to bring your friends and family so that you can wobble before you gobble! 

The 5K begins at the LYCC of Gardner-Webb University and the race route goes throughout the beautiful town of Boiling Springs. Running a race that matters this holiday season is what the Turkey Trot is all about; all proceeds from the race go to the YMCA's We Build People Scholarship Fund so that we can provide financial assistance to those in need so that they can have access to the YMCA. We can't wait to see you there!

Wednesday Event Schedule:

Thursday (Race Morning) Event Schedule: 
*7:00am: Packet pick-up begins                                                                                                                                          *7:45am: Dog costume contest begins
*8:15am: Packet pick-up closes
*8:30am: 5K Race Start
*9:30am: Kids Fun Run Start

Dog Costume Contest: 

This year, we are partnering with Clifford's Army Rescue to host our first-ever dog costume contest on race-day morning, before our YMCA Turkey Trot begins. To participate, sign up for the Turkey Trot (either as a 5K participant or a Phantom Runner). At the bottom of the registrant page, select "Yes" below "Would you like to join or create a Group/Team?" On the Group/Team page, click "Join an Existing Group/Team", click the drop down arrow and select "Dog Costume Contest!" Then complete the registration and get your pup ready to strut their turkey feathers on 11/26/26 at the Gardner-Webb University LYCC at 7:45 am! Prizes will be given out to the top 3 finishers!
