Description

Escape to the tranquility of Lake Logan for the ultimate 4-day triathlon training getaway. This 90-acre reservoir, nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains just 30 miles west of Asheville, NC offers a serene and inspiring training environment.  Here is what experienced professional athletes and coaches Andrew Starykowicz and John Kenny have on tap:
+ Elevate your open water swimming with expert coaching at Lake Logan.  Daily swims on buoyed courses will refine your technique, sighting, pack swimming, and start positioning.
+ Gain confidence and conquer the mountains on you bicycle. Our expert coaching will empower you to improve your climbing and descending skills as you explore the scenic creeks and breathtaking vistas of the Appalachian ridgeline.
+ Escape the pavement and embrace the trails. Our runs on double and single track combine adventure with traditional triathlon training, offering a refreshing alternative to monotonous pace based road work.
+ Wake up to the sun rising over the mountains in lakeside cabins.  Option of twin beds, or upgrade for single occupancy. Daily buffet style all you can eat breakfast and dinner is included to ensure that proper refueling.
+ You belong here, no matter your experience or ability.  If you have specific training goals, we'll work with you (and your coach, if applicable) to get you your ideal training weekend.  We understand that not everyone is in the same place in their training journey and scaled workouts will reflect that.  Your Goals Are Our Goals!

Proficiencies & safety requirements:
Swim
-Must be able to swim 400 yards open water
-Swimmers must have an open water swim buoy while swimming
Bike
-Must be able to ride 20 miles on rolling terrain
-Must bring proper gearing to be able to climb
-All bikes are welcome
-Must be able to change a flat tire
-Must ride with a red flashing light
Run
-Must be able to traverse hills and uneven surfaces

Expected open water temperature will be between 62-68F.  Wetsuits are recommended.

This camp is being organized by both FRENCH CREEK RACING and FA.S.T. Racing.  Jointly, we have produces dozens of successful camps at various locations.

Here's our tentative itinerary for the weekend:
Wednesday:
12 Noon arrival at Lake Logan
1-2:30PM Bike Drills
4-5:30PM Swim Drills
6-7PM Dinner
7-8PM Daily Meeting
Thursday:
7-8AM Stretch and core
8-9AM Breakfast
10AM-2PM Bike focus - Bike up major climb or take transport to the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Single track trail run.  Bike mostly downhill back to camp
4-5:30PM Swim Large Course
6-7PM Dinner
7-8PM Daily Meeting
Friday:
7-8AM Stretch and core
8-9AM Breakfast
10AM-2PM Run focus - Double track run with short cadence focused bike.  Option to extend bike route to include more climbing.
4-5:30PM Swim Small Course
6-7PM Dinner
7-8PM Daily Meeting
Saturday:
6:30-8AM Rolling bike course in the valley
8-9AM Breakfast
9:30-11AM SwimRun and something new to most (surprise)
