The Bella Rose Strides for Babies 5K is a run/walk with proceeds benefiting First Candle held every August at the Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary, NC in honor of Bella Rose Diaz.
In May of 2011, tragedy struck the Carolina Family Practice and Sports Medicine family when Amy Diaz, one of our beloved employees, suffered the heartbreaking loss of her beautiful and charismatic baby daughter Bella Rose to the dreadful mystery that is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS. To honor her, Carolina Family Practice and Sports Medicine worked first with the CJ Foundation for SIDS, and now First Candle to organize the Bella Rose Strides for Babies 5K. In 8 years, the event has raised over $140,000 for the cause. We hope to have another great event this year further helping to promote awareness and fund research for SIDS.

This Event Features...
All participants should plan to be around leashed dogs at the 2020 Bella Rose Strides for Babies as we will be having a competition category for the fastest dogs. Dog owners are responsible for keeping their dogs leashed and under control and should responsibly dispose of any waste in the appropriate receptacles. Improper management of dogs will result in dismissal from the event.
Friday August 2 from 1-6p at Inside-Out sports in Cary.

The friends and families of Bella Rose that are working on the Bella Rose Strides for Babies 5K would appreciate any help that local businesses or community members can give us including direct financial support or in-kind goods and services. All contributions are tax-deductible and sponsors will be represented on the website and event t-shirt as described in more detail in our sponsorship packet below.
We would like to remember those babies who have died suddenly and unexpectedly so we encourage parents, family and friends of these babies to bring a poster memorializing your loved one. The posters will be set up under one of the tents. If you are interested in remembering a baby this way, please contact Aaron at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a silent auction with bidding ongoing from 7:30AM to 9:45AM. Winners will need to be present at 9:45AM on 8/3/2019 to claim their prize. Registration is not necessary for the silent auction.
