Description

The Big Run 2024 - Father's Day Edition

What better way to spend Father's Day than to share the gift of running? The Big Run is an annual 5K in celebration of Global Running Day and everything that makes running special - most of all, community.

Celebrate Father's Day in a memorable and active way this year by joining hundreds of others for a FREE family-friendly event at Wake Med Soccer Park!  Gather the whole family for a fun-filled morning of fitness and bonding for a 5K fun run. Finishers will receive a special commemorative medal to cherish as a token of this unforgettable experience!

This is an untimed 5K fun run on Wake Med Soccer Park's cross country course of mostly grass and dirt. Keep in mind that since the course is not on pavement and includes sections of rough terrain in the woods, it is not very stroller-friendly. Unfortunately, dogs will also not be allowed at the park/on the course or fields.

Schedule:
Black Girls RUN! ambassador, Eleanor, will lead a warm up at 7:30am
The run will begin at 8:00am after announcements and acknowledgements
Dean Self from YogaSix with be leading a post-run yoga cooldown
Stick around afterwards to enjoy food trucks, music from a local DJ, giveaways from vendors, and much more!
