Description

This is the First Year that we are adding a 5K along with the 10K race. If you are signing up for the Le Tour de Carrboro a three race series benefiting Carrboro Area Charities, you will need to choose to do either the 5K or the 10K as part of the series.  The Carrboro 10K is 6.2 miles, the Carrboro 5K is 3.1 miles.  Both races start at 8 a.m. at McDougle Middle School, wind through Carrboro neighborhoods, and finish on the McDougle track. NOTE: THE 5K RACE IS CAPPED AT 250 PARTICIPANTS SO REGISTER EARLY!
We have the best deal in the Triangle with registration fees for either race at only $30!  So sign up now and help us to support our Community Partners.

Place

McDougle Middle School
900 Old Fayetteville Rd
Chapel Hill, NC US 27516

Registration and Bib Pickup

Online registration will close on Thursday, October 2, at midnight.
In-person registration and bib pickup will be available at Fleet Feet in Carrboro on Friday, October 3, from 12-6:30 pm, and Race Day morning from 6:30-7:45 am.

IMPORTANT! In person registration on Friday or Race Day will be done electronically by scanning a QR code which will take you to the registration form that you will fill out on your phone. So, please bring your smart phone and credit card if you are registering in person. If you are already registered, you will just need your bib number to pick up your bib.

Race entries are not refundable and are not transferable, i.e., you cannot give your bib number to someone else. By doing so, the results (awards, age group, and overall) will be incorrect.

Course

Both races begin in front of McDougle Middle School, wind through downtown Carrboro and its neighborhoods, and finish on the McDougle track.  Both courses are certified by USATF - see these links for details:

For the Kids

Races for kids are  FREE for children aged 2-9 and will be held after the races at approximately 9:45 (after the awards ceremony). Races will be split by age groups as follows: 50 meter race for 2-3 year olds, 100 meter race for 4-5 year olds,  200 meter race for 6-10 year olds.

Stroller and Pet Policies

Baby strollers and joggers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants please start at the back behind the runners.

Pets are not permitted on the race course.

Walkers are welcome!

We encourage everyone to join us at our events. If you want to walk either course, that's great! However, if the trailing police car passes you, you must follow normal pedestrian rules -- move to the sidewalk or side of the road. Our timing service tries to capture the time for everyone who crosses the finish line, so even if the police close the course, you should receive a finish time.

Community Partners
