Miles for Smiles Challenge 

UNC-Chapel Hill's Operation Smile club is thrilled to announce this year's Virtual Miles for Smiles Challenge. This event will begin Saturday, May 1st, and continue through Saturday, May 8th. Operation Smile is thankful to partner with Alpha Phi, Alpha Chi Omega, and Alpha Tau Omega.

Every year, over 200,000 children are born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. This makes it difficult for these children to eat, speak, or smile. Operation Smile is an organization dedicated to performing life-changing surgeries to repair these cleft lips and palates for children who couldn't otherwise afford the surgery.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Operation Smile. For more information about this amazing organization, please visit www.operationsmile.org.

Tracking Results 

During the week of 5/1-5/8 please track your results to be recorded on RunSignUp. To submit results please click on the “Results” tab --> “Submit Virtual Results,” search for the participant, and “Log Activities.”

A great free app to record miles is Map My Walk (https://www.mapmywalk.com).  Any recording device of your choosing is acceptable. There are several great options to record your miles!

All registrations include an entry into a competition for the "most miles ran or walked" to earn some amazing prizes.

1st Place Prize: $400 Credit to The Carolina Inn (Hyatt Hotels) 

2nd Place Prize: Any running shoe of your choice ($200 value) 

3rd Place Prize: Any running shoe of your choice ($200 value) 

4rd - 7th Place: 1 $20 gift card to Brandwein's Bagels, a local Chapel Hill favorite  (www.brandweinsbagels.com)

7th: $20 Operation Smile Gift Card
