Description
During these challenging times, add a little fun, personal accomplishment, and social distancing stress relief to your homebound life. Enter the FREE Zen Squirrel Virtual Trail Run, hit any open trail, at any time between April 22nd and May 9th, run/walk and track your chosen distance (2 mile, 5 mile, or 10 mile), upload your finish time (or just record that you finished), post your selfies on social media if you choose, and bask in your well-earned accomplishment.
While this is a FREE virtual race, we are collecting donations to support central North Carolina food banks. So, please consider contributing. During registration, you can also choose to purchase a cool Zen Squirrel tee, pint glass, or hat.
We all need a little motivation and goal setting to stay mentally and physically fit. So, get at it!
HOW IT WORKS
- Sign up: It only takes a minute or two - and it's FREE. Plus, commitment equals motivation!
- Run: Run or walk 2, 5, or 10 miles on any open trail, at any time between April 22nd and May 9th. Use your watch or phone to track your mileage. When you reach your chosen distance, stop and note your time.
- Record: From your device or computer, log into your profile on RunSignup.com and click on the results tab. Post your results or just record that you finished. Since all trails are different, results are just for fun and personal accomplishment. Results must be posted by May 9th @ 12pm.
- Share (optional): Post your selfies or route on social media and use hashtags #roadlessraces or #virtualzensquirrel so we can track your post.
- Celebrate: On May 9th by 5pm, we will post a video on the Roadless Races Facebook page wrapping up the event and drawing the winners of the giveaways. Giveaways include Zen Squirrel swag, gift certificates, and several FREE entries into our live races being held later this year. All participants who record or post their results are eligible for the giveaways.
RULES
- All participants must follow social distancing guidelines recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and their local government for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
- All participants must only run on trails that are open to the public or private property in which permission has been granted.
- Roadless Races may suspend, alter, or cancel this virtual event at any time.
