Description
We are excited to be hosting the 2nd Annual Rescue Me 5K. This 5K is unique because you can run with your dog! Last year’s event had 450 humans and 170 dogs cross the finish line -- we hope you will join us this year! Besides the 5k, plan to stick around for the awards presentation, Dog Halloween Costume Contest, a huge adoption event and other fun family activities.
All the proceeds from this race help to benefit Operation Sidekick – The newest program of The American Pit Bull Foundation (APBF). Over 22 veterans a day are lost to suicide, which is now the leading cause of death in the military, surpassing war. Over 4,000 Pit Bulls are killed every day. APBF is the first organization to bridge the gap and exclusively train rescued pit bulls as service dogs to help our veterans overcome the daily struggle of PTSD and depression.
We hope you’ll bring your dog (all dogs welcome) and have some fun while supporting a wonderful cause.
