Lions Services Inc, is excited to host our 2nd Annual Walk For Blind Independence!
Lions Services is a 501(c)(3) based in Charlotte, N.C. The walk for Blind Independence supports the mission of Lions Services: Empowering people who are blind to achieve personal and economic independence by providing them with vocational rehabilitation and employment opportunities.
About the Walk: Attendees will complete a 2 mile walk on paved trails at the Eastway Regional Recreation Center surrounded by scenic nature preserve and wetlands. This gathering aims to bring together individuals from the community who either experience low vision or have a love one affected by it. Everyone is welcome to participate. Volunteers will be available if you need a walking guide.
Our goal for this walk is to raise $50,000, your presence and support will make all the difference. Join us to support and build a brighter future for the visually impaired and blind community. Let's raise awareness and funds to sustain and expand jobs at Lions Services for greater INCLUSION! We look forward to walking alongside you on October 5th!
Every step we take, every dollar we raise, puts people with vision loss further on the path to independence!
How to Participate- IN PERSON
- Sign up as an individual participant.
- Please consider starting a fundraiser, set a goal, then ask friends, family members, colleagues and associates to donate to your fundraiser on our run sign up page.
How to Participate- VIRTUAL
- Walk From Home: If you're unable to participate in person, you may register to walk from home $25 (No T-shirt )

Registration: T-shirt pick up 8:30am Walk starts at 9:00am
After the Walk: All participants and volunteers are welcome to stay for some fun at the Event Lawn with food, music and giveaways.
What is included in my registration: Your registration includes a t-shirt, event materials, and access to the Event Lawn for FUN!
The walk is for EVERYONE to participate, volunteer guides will be available.
REFUND & WEATHER POLICY: Race registration is non-refundable. This race will run rain or shine unless there is severe weather such as thunderstorms, etc. Should we cancel, you will be notified via social media, our website and email. Should we cancel, there will be no refunds as that money has already been put toward the race.

Become a fundraising individual or team online!
Ask your friends, family and coworkers to join you by registering for the walk and donating to your fundraiser. Ask them to register online under your team and start raising money.
Raise $250: Receive a small camouflage backpack made by visually impaired employees.
Raise $500: Receive a medium-sized camouflage backpack made by visually impaired employees.
Raise $1,000 or more: Enjoy a large camouflage backpack crafted by visually impaired employees.
