The Charlotte Water for People 5K is now a virtual race. Please visit the updated website to choose your race options. You can transfer your participation to the virtual race, cancel your registration but donate the fee to Water for People, or request a full refund*.

Description

Water For People is a non-profit organization that works in 9 countries in Latin America, East Africa, and India to ensure that every person has access to reliable and safe water and sanitation services.  With over 200 participants last year, this event provides a great opportunity to connect with athletic and community minded people both in and out of the water and wastewater industry.  Runners, joggers, walkers, pets, and strollers are all welcome!

Reduced Pricing for Children Ages 14 and Under

Children are especially invited to register for this race at a reduced rate of $25. 

Race Awards

Race awards will be presented to the first place finishers in each age group. There will also be general prizes given away after the race!

Together We Can Do More - Join a Team

The largest team to participate in the race will be awarded one year of hanging rights of the Charlotte 5K Team Champion plaque.  Refer to the Teams tab to create or join an existing group.

Learn More About Water For People

The purpose of Water For People is to Help People in developing countries Help Themselves. Water For People strongly believes that project beneficiaries, men and women, must be actively involved in all aspects of a project (planning, design, implementation, cost-sharing and operation/maintenance) to nurture local autonomy, initiative, management and ownership. Water For People has adopted the Country of Bolivia, and actively funds projects and participates in annual work trips benefiting those less fortunate in Bolivia.  Click on the link above to learn more.
