Santa Scramble 5K will run the original route. See the course map below. (Church Street, Buffalo Avenue, Union Street, Corban Avenue, McEachern, and finishes on the greenway at McGee Park.
Very Fast Race. Set to run before the Christmas Parade thru Concord.
The Santa Scramble 5K is set for Saturday, November 23, 2024 in downtown Concord. The race will again be part of the Concord Christmas parade with an approximate start between 2:00 and 2:15 pm start (subject to change).
This is a destination race meaning you will start at one location and finish at another.
All registrations will be a discounted rate of $17 until 9/4/24. Age Based Pricing begins after the price increase on 9/4/24 - - age 17 and under and 65 and older will continue to have the $17 registration rate and will receive the age discount at checkout.
School and Team Award
When you register, join a School or Team.
The school with the most registrations will be rewarded $1000.
The team with the most registrations will be rewarded up to $1000.
Anyone can register under or school or team - students, families, friends, anyone!
Start Line
The start line is between the former 5/3 Bank and Wells Fargo Bank on Church street near the intersection at Lake Concord Rd. 885 Church St. N. Very close to the hospital.
There is no room to park at the start line. It is highly recommended to take the shuttle from the Concord High School to the Start line. Get there early!!!
Race Day Packet Pickup is at the Concord High School Auxiliary Gym near the Main Office.
Finish Line
Finishing at the J.W. (Mickey) McGee Park on the greenway at the first Shelter. 219 Corban Ave SE, Concord, NC 28025
There will be no parking at McGee Park. Parking may be available across the street (Highway 3/Branchview Avenue) at local businesses. Runners will only be shuttled back to Concord High School after the race.
Buses and Transportation
The LAST bus leaves from the Concord High School Parking lot (by the Main Office) at 1:00 pm. If you miss the bus you will have to find your own way to the start line.
Please arrive early as everyone cannot fit in the last bus.

Parking
Logistics for this race are complicated as the streets are blocked for parade traffic and Parade Floats. You are encouraged to find your own way to the start line if possible. The last shuttle leaves the Concord High School Parking Lot by the Main Office at 1:00 pm.
Buses will transport from Concord High School Parking lot beginning at 11 am to the start line and will also take runners back to the school from the finish line after the awards ceremony. The school has more parking area. Remember to get there early. The school location map is below.

No Santa Claus suits allowed for runners
We do not want the kids waiting on the parade to see multiple Santa Claus running down the road. Santa Claus comes at the end of the parade. So please, no suits it is for the kids.
