Student Outreach Services (SOS) is sponsoring the “Light A Life” 5K, with ALL profits going to youth organizations serving children in our community and abroad. SOS is a student-led organization, comprised of middle and high school students, with the mission of serving and helping others. This 5K Run/Walk event will bless three organizations:

Sally’s YMCA (Lincoln County). Sally’s YMCA offers quality summer camps for children. Scholarships are offered to children in need to attend this safe, quality summer camp experience. www.ymcacharlotte.org/sallys

Helping Hands Birdie Program (Lincoln County). The Birdie Program is a subgroup of the Helping Hands organization. Birdies work closely with social workers, guidance counselors and graduation coaches through "Communities In Schools," to focus on serving the needs of "at risk" youth identified within local schools and Lincoln county. www.denvermethodist.org/group/helping-hands

Operation Feed the Children (India). An international non-profit organization which focuses on providing food, education and shelter for over 500 orphaned children in India where orphans are shunned and left alone to fight for their lives. www.operationfeedthechildren.org
