Description

Cycle North Carolina (CNC) is a fully supported bicycle tour of North Carolina that has become one of the most popular cross-state rides in the United States. It’s not a race, but rather a leisurely trek along scenic back country roads with minimal traffic. It is an opportunity to join other cyclists on an educational, social and recreational tour of North Carolina.
The nineteenth annual tour is an experience that will encompass all of the unmatched beauty of North Carolina from the “Mountains to Coast.” This year’s tour will begin in the mountains of Jefferson and finish at the “friendly city by the sea,” Swansboro. Temporary base camps in each overnight community will be available for those wishing to indoor and/or outdoor camp. These base camps will feature all the amenities including showers, bathrooms, food vendors, local information booths, local shuttles and much more. Each overnight town will offer evening entertainment and activities to allow riders to explore the area and celebrate each day’s accomplishment. Evening entertainment options range from live bands, beverage gardens, downtown street celebrations and much more. Shuttles into town at each overnight location will be offered.
The average daily mileage is 65 miles. CNC offers fully stocked rest stops approximately 10-20 miles apart, providing you opportunities to dismount your bike, relax, catch your breath and replenish your energy. On most days, there will be a multitude of places to dine, shop, visit and offer additional rest periods.
Cycle North Carolina is not about how fast you can get to the next town. It’s about experiencing North Carolina from a much different perspective. It’s about the sites, the sounds, the smells, the culture, the southern hospitality and of course the great N.C. food. With minimal traffic and the wind at your back (on a good day!), the tour will provide you with an opportunity to enjoy cycling with old and new friends.
