Race 13.1 Durham, NC

With North Carolina's mild winter temperatures, this December half marathon, 10k and 5k race will be a great way for any runner to close out the fall race season and stay focused on training through the Thanksgiving holiday! Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Race 13.1 Durham's course will be updated slightly from the 2015 event to accomodate the larger race size expected in 2016. Stay tuned for a final course map!

In addition to the shops and restaurants Northgate has to offer, runners and spectators will want to take advantage the restaurants and eateries that gave Durham the title "Tastiest Town in the South" by Southern Living. Home to Duke University, Duke Gardens, the Durham Bulls baseball team and the Durham Performing Arts Center, the No. 4 ranked theater in the country, Durham and the surrounding Research Triangle Park offers plenty of sites to see and activities to do throughout the weekend. 

Holiday Kids Fun Run
Join us for the Holiday Kids Fun Run at 7:30am before the race! The event is free with a suggested donation of $5 to our charity partner, Heart 2 Heart Collaborative, or an unused toy that will be donated to Duke Children's Hospital patients. Holiday Fun Run participants will start and finish through the real Race 13.1 Durham start/finish arch and run a .5 mile loop through the race site. There will be a bounce house, face painting, and Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance!
