Run Like the Dickens 5K and Tiny Tim Trot

The "Run Like the Dickens 5K" kick starts "A Dickens Christmas" in beautiful downtown Edenton, NC. Runners and walkers will experience this amazing waterfront town, the former colonial capital of North Carolina, while moving through tree-lined streets past historic homes.

The "Run Like the Dickens 5K" utilizes a unique and exciting route that winds through Edenton, travels around the high school campus, and then heads right down tree-lined Broad Street (the heart of beautiful downtown Edenton) before finishing at the Town of Edenton waterfront. The run/walk will be "chip-timed." Shuttles will run between the start and finish lines.

Those who may not be able to participate in person may sign-up as a "Ghost of Christmas Past." The "ghost-runners" will be able to support the foundation through registering and will receive a race t-shirt even though they do not run on race day.

DJs will be spinning holiday tunes at the start and finish lines, while carolers and bands entertain participants along the route.

Feel free to wear running attire or pull on your favorite holiday attire as we welcome the beginning of the Christmas season.

All pre-registered entries will receive a t-shirt. Same day registrants will receive a shirt will supplies last.

Following the 5K, the "Tiny Tim Trot" will take place at the waterfront for children 6 and younger (@ 9:45am). This micro-race features a medal and shirt for all pre-registered participants.

Proceeds from this event will assist the Edenton-Chowan Foundation in continuing to provide scholarships to high school seniors and mini-grant awards to school system teachers to use in their classrooms.

Timing & Results
All racers must wear their assigned timing chip on their shoe in order to be timed.
Chip scoring is provided by Run the East LLC.

Packet Pickup:
Race day registration and packet pickup will begin on race day at 7:45am at the start line.

Parking:
Participants may park in the parking lot at the start line. Shuttles will return participants from finish line to start line for up to one hour following the awards ceremony.

5K top 3 overall Men and Women Finishers
Medals for top three in each age and gender group in the following divisions: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 & 60 and over
All Tiny Tim Trotters will receive a medal at the finish line
