Description
Join the Airborne and Special Operations Museum Foundation as we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Battle of Mogadishu, Somalia AKA Operation GOTHIC SERPENT 30 years ago.
The event name, "Mogadishu Mile", refers to a route that was run by United States Army Rangers and Special Forces soldiers from a helicopter crash site to an appointed rally point held by the 10th Mountain Division on National Street during the Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993. These acts were the inspiration for the 2001 movie, Black Hawk Down.
The MOG Mile 5K is not a timed race so there will be no prizes or places for the top three winners. There are no age groupings. Participants will run it at their own pace.
Registration is open to anyone 18 and over. Kids under 18 can participate at no charge, but only with a registered adult. Registration will close September 25th at 11:59 PM.
