Description
On Saturday, March 31st, we (Shine_Light, Inc) will be holding a 5k Glow Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run to raise awareness and benefit individuals in our community with autism. Activities begin at 3:00pm at Festival Park in Fayetteville, NC and will be followed up with a family friendly After Dark Glow Party. Please note that there will also be sensory sensitive areas/stations for individuals with autism.
Our mission at Shine-Light is to seek to provide a wellness environment for individuals with Autism through radiating dedication, purpose, and devotion in our daily service. Shine-Light is a unique wellness community created with the distinct purpose of providing a brighter life and future for individuals with autism.
Shine-Light serves as a guiding light for individuals and their families by leading the way in support and services for individuals with autism. We seek the light in each person we support and join them on their journey of discover. We know that autism is a highly misunderstood and challenging condition with a broad spectrum of factors. We also realize that doctors and researchers are constantly learning more about autis, and that new methods of teaching are always evolving. At Shine-Light, we are committed to remaining on the cutting edge of autism related research and teachings to be a leader in providing new and proven methods to the individuals we support. We focus our efforts on understanding the very unique qualities and characteristics of each person we support in order to better understand how we can help them shine their inner light.
For this reason, 100% of the Shine Your Light 5k proceeds will go directly to the individuals we support, which will benefit them recreationally and/or educationally.
We are raffling off wireless earbuds, a Fitbit, and a GoPro. We are selling the tickets for $1 each and we are not requiring you to be present to win! The winners will be announced directly following the awards ceremony.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT BACKPACKS AND LARGE PURSES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED AT THIS EVENT**
