Cannonball Marathon & Half Marathon & 5k
The Cannonball is one of the longest running endurance events in North Carolina. The addition of the Marathon in 2016 makes it the Triad’s “go to” race. We’re happy to offer the 2020 Marathon as a Boston Qualifier again this year. We have seem blazing fast times in previous years for the half, but don’t be fooled the course isn’t a walk in the park. The race is also perfect for the beginner runner because of the gorgeous scenery. The backdrop for the race is Country Park and the beautiful north Greensboro countryside. All are invited to enjoy the celebration at beautiful Country Park featuring local breweries, great food, live music and activities for all ages.

Former Olympic Athlete, author & running coach, Jeff Galloway, is coming back to Greensboro! Jeff’s passion is helping runners stay motivated and injury-free. Sessions include Running Faster, Training for YOUR Goal, Nutrition, Motivation, Fatburning, Building Endurance and more! Questions are encouraged. The format will be lecture style but there is plenty of time for Q&A.
With over 40+ years of running experience, we are happy to have Jeff Galloway as a guest at this year’s Cannonball marathon. All American Collegiate Athlete and 1972 US Olympian are just a few of the many titles given to this inspirational runner. Most well-known for his Run-Walk-Run Method, Galloway’s teachings help runners to nearly eliminate aches, pains, and injuries from distance running. Now an accomplished author and coach, Galloway’s practical training plans have lowered the barriers to distance running to almost everyone.
