Triad GO FAR Community 5K & Fun Run Presented by Novant Health

• NO DRONES
• Strollers are welcome but must line up at the back of the final wave to avoid congestion at the start line.
• NO bikes, roller blades or skateboards
• For safety purposes, only service animals are allowed at our events. A service animal is a working animal, not a pet. No pets permitted on the course or within the event area.
• All runners (including parents, coaches, and running buddies) must register in advance and wear assigned bib during the race. Any runner not wearing a bib will be asked to exit the race course.

  Important: To ensure your swag bag is included in your coach’s packet at Coaches Packet Pickup, you must be registered by October 13.

Registration Fees are Non-Refundable and Deferrals are not available.

Once we receive and accept your registration, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, unless you purchase Race Insurance. Before October 31st,, you may transfer your race registration to another runner. After October 31st,, registrations are non-transferable, non-refundable, and are not eligible for deferral. No exceptions.

Registration Deadlines:

T-shirt sizes are guaranteed only to runners registered before the early bird deadline.
Space permitting, late registrations will be accepted online and in person at packet pick-up locations listed below.
Late registrations will be accepted until 7:45 am on race day. We cannot accept new registrations after that time.

NOTES: 

All runners must register in advance and wear assigned bib during the race. Parents of GO FAR club participants who want to join children on race day must register online. Any runner not wearing a bib will be asked to exit the race course.
A $2.50 processing fee is included in the registration fees listed above.

Payment Method:

Credit card payment is required for all online registrations. Some GO FAR schools accept payment by check with the paper registration. Please check with your GO FAR coach for information.

• Pre-paid packets must be picked up BEFORE 8:00 am on race day. 
• Late registrations will be accepted until 8:00 am on race day. We cannot accept new registrations after that time.

GO FAR RUNNERS:

If you have been training with a GO FAR club, your coach will have a meeting spot in the COACHES’ LOT. Ask your coach for details about how to find your group and check-in times. (Most coaches require runners to arrive sometime between 6:45-7:15 am.) It is IMPORTANT TO ARRIVE EARLY. There will be a lot of traffic. Give yourself plenty of time to park and find your group in the Coaches’ Lot. After you check in with your coach, you will have time to enjoy GO FAR Family Festivities.

Inclement Weather Policy

GO FAR puts the safety of its participants, spectators, staff, and volunteers first. Dangerous weather conditions pose a unique challenge to an event the size of the Triad GO FAR Race. Therefore we have adopted the following Inclement Weather Policy:

Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, with special attention placed on the possibility of ice, heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures (hot or cold). If necessary, families and schools will be made aware of these conditions and possible dangers which could result. Announcements will be posted on the GO FAR website as well as through other means of communication such as social media.

The Executive Director and GO FAR Race Committee, in consultation with Greensboro law enforcement, Piedmont Triad Ambulance and Rescue, and other officials, will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time or, in extreme situations, cancellation of the event.

Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 30-minute increments.

If ice is visible on the race route and is unavoidable, the race personnel, medical team, fire, and police personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race due to inclement weather.

If extremely high heat and humidity is predicted, extra water will be provided to runners prior to, during, and after the event. The medical team will be alerted that athletes may require additional medical attention during and after the event due to these conditions. If it is felt that it is unsafe for participants to start the race due to severe temperatures and humidity, the race may be cancelled.

The GO FAR Family Event does not get cancelled due to rain.

NOTE: No refunds or deferrals are given if the race is cancelled. All proceeds benefit GO FAR Registration Scholarships and Lace Up Scholarships throughout the state.
