East Carolina University's Army ROTC "Pirate Battalion" is hosting the 9th Annual Patriot Run on Saturday April 1, 2017. This year's run is being hosted at a new venue and is an entirely new event that will allow both runners and spectators the opportunity to enjoy a scenic route through East Carolina University's West Research Campus. This route will be offering a 3-4 mile option as well as a 1+ mile fun run. The 2017 Patriot Run is proud to support Eagle Rock Camp, a part of the R4 Alliance. Portions of the race proceeds in 2017 will be donated to help support their Vision. Eagle Rock Camp is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in December, 2010, after founder Lynn Miller discovered very limited resources for military families. Lynn, the board of directors and a focus group of veterans carefully listened to what the military families needed and then developed Eagle Rock Camp's curriculum to meet those needs. Meeting all members of the family at their level of need, these evidence-based programs help heal the body, mind and spirit. Eagle Rock Camp's mission is to reconnect military families in an environment that is faith-based, therapeutic, inclusive and emotionally safe.
