HPAC Summer Miles Series #1

Why run a marathon when you can run the Mile? Running the Mile is as American as apple pie. When was the last time you ran a mile? High School? Elementary School? Come take down that lifetime mile PR with us this summer for a series of 1 mile races at the Aderholt Track at the High Point Athletic Complex. 3 timed heats so you can race runners at your own skill level. Plus a community & corporate 4x400m relay to cap off the night of exciting races!

Proceeds from the Series will benefit the GO FAR High Point program. GO FAR's mission is to empower children to make sustainable healthy lifestyle choices.  As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, GO FAR provides an easy way for teachers, coaches and/or parents to create running clubs in their schools and communities. The flexible, turn-key curricula can be offered in the classroom, during a summer camp, or as an after-school program.

• get children active
• reduce the incidence of childhood obesity and its complications
• teach children about healthy eating habits that they can sustain into adulthood
• model the importance of good character and how it applies to success in life
• show children how to set and achieve goals and complete a 5K road race
• GO FAR creates a ripple effect in schools and communities when children motivate their teachers, parents and siblings to get involved.

Races start at 7:00pm. Awards to follow Community & Corporate 4x400m Relay @ 8:00pm
