Captain Kevin Dendy grew up in Syracuse, New York, a place he was always proud to call home. In time, he also became a cherished member of the Hillsborough and North Durham community. Kevin was commissioned into the North Carolina National Guard and served a tour in Kuwait during the initial wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, where he provided essential medical care to soldiers serving overseas. His dedication to service, leadership, and caring for others defined both his military career and his everyday life.
Kevin had a deep love for the outdoors and lived an active life. He enjoyed running, hiking, swimming, and riding his motorcycle. Whether exploring new trails or spending time with friends and family, Kevin approached life with enthusiasm, generosity, and a spirit of adventure. On December 29, 2021, Kevin tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident.

By running or walking in this race, participants help keep Kevin’s spirit of service, adventure, and community alive.

The race will start at Eno River Brewing at 9:30 am.
