Hello VermilliRUN 5K participants,
Consistent with our mission of promoting community and individual health and wellness, the April 4th, 2020 VermilliRUN 5K & Kids Fun Run is cancelled.
We know that the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak is creating difficult situations for many of you. We’d like to make any decisions regarding your participation in the VermilliRUN as easy as possible.
VermilliRUN was organized to make a positive impact on our community. While we are not hosting our annual 5K & Kids Fun Run event, we can still make an impact by donating as much of our sponsorship and registration funds to our charity partner, Claire's Army, as possible. Below you have the option to chose which course of action you would like to take regarding your participant fee. Please know whichever decision you make, we are very grateful for your interest in our annual charity race event.
The VermilliRUN Team
The VermilliRUN is a 5K run/walk race event that takes participants through the streets of the Vermillion Community in Huntersville, NC in honor of Brian Bowman, a beloved member of the Vermillion community who passed away from bone cancer in 2014.
This family-friendly event features live music, food & beverage vendors, free race warm-up & cool down exercises and tons of FREE kids activities including a Kids Fun Run, bounce houses, face painters, glitter tattoo artists & balloon twisters - plus so much more! Register for the 5K run/walk, cheer on your friends & family from the sidelines and enjoy a morning of fun at this amazing community race event!
Each year a local charity is selected to be the beneficiary of all race proceeds. For our 2020 race, all proceeds from pre-race fundraising events and the 5K run/walk race event will benefit Claire’s Army, dedicated to serving families fighting childhood cancer by supporting their daily responsibilities and allowing them to put time and focus on their child.
From start to finish, this race event is planned and organized by dedicated community volunteers using local business partnerships to keep race expenses low - and charity donations high! Since our inaugural race in 2018, VermilliRUN has raised $60,271.63 for our local charity partners!
We run to raise awareness for local charities. We run to support and honor our friends, families and community. We run for those who no longer can.
