Shane's Cupcake 5K

                             The Outer Banks Running Club is Hosting Shane's Cupcake 5K (Yes Cupcakes)

All Runners, Walkers and Kids are welcome to this pet and stroller friendly event. Pets and strollers are asked to start at the back of the corral start line.

The event will serve as a dedicated fundraiser for Manteo Resident Shane Miles, an inspirational leader within the Outer Banks running community who has been battling Stage IV colon cancer since December 2018. A former President of the Outer Banks Running Club, Shane started the Cupcake Run in 2012 and managed it for six years as a charity event to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

What:                       Cupcake 5K for runners and walkers

When:                      Saturday, February 22 at 9 a.m.

Where:                     Aviation Park / Park at FFHS or FFES.

Donation:                $35 donation – Proceeds to contribute to medical treatment costs for Shane

Packet Pick Up:

Friday, February 21 4-6:30 pm at Aviation Park (preferred), or the morning of the race, from 8-8:45 am.

Race day Registration, Raffle tickets and additional Meal bracelets for non-runners are available at packet pickup.

Raffle tickets and Meal tickets are also available at the rear entrance of the Outer banks Brewing Station after the race.

What You Get:

T-shirt, finishers medals for top 3 male and top 3 female, top female and male under 12 participants, free photos and a Breakfast Taco Bar at Outer Banks Brewing Station.

Post-Run Event: 

10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Outer Banks Brewing Station. The event will feature a taco bar, specialty drinks, raffle and DJ. Those not participating in the run can purchase a meal bracelet for $10.

The Outer Banks Brewing Station is a short walk from the finish line...leave your car at FFHS or FFES.

*** The Bar will be open. Bar sales will be on individual tabs.

*** Between 10-12 pm ........$1 from all draft beer sales will be donated to Shane.

*** Between 10 am-4 pm .......... $1 from all Mimosa sales will be donated to Shane.

RAFFLE:

There will be a raffle with lots of local gift certificates and other prizes. Raffle tickets are 6 for $5.00 and can be purchased online when you register, at packet pickup on Friday, on race day at packet pickup and at the back entrance to the Outer Banks Brewing Station after the race is over.

There will also be a 50/50 Raffle.
