The Knights PTO is very excited to bring back the iKnight 5k! This year the 7th annual 5k will be April 24, 2021, but it will be virtual. Our goal is to raise $10k to update much needed technology in the classrooms. This new technology will enable students to interact with their Chromebooks.
Every year, our PTO raises funds through the iKnight Technology Drive to purchase technology for the classrooms. Technology is a life skill and can be a highly effective tool in the classroom that will help prepare our students for their digital future.
Digital education is opening doors to new learning opportunities and access to digital content in the classroom and at home helps students in many ways. Through interactive technology tools, students are motivated to be active participants, which improves the overall digital learning experience.
This year, more than ever, the PTO efforts to purchase technology to enhance classrooms digitally are critical. Not only for students in the classroom, but also the remote learning students.
The PTO needs support with the goal of $10k and we are seeking business partners and donors to join us in helping bring our classrooms up to date and help our students.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE?
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose in the USA or Internationally! You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, around your neighborhood, local park, on the treadmill, in a shopping mall, at the gym, or on the track.
You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Run or walk the whole race (3.1 miles) or less. You can walk or run 1 mile, 2 miles or as many as you want.
T shirt deadline will be April 16th to guarantee a T shirt. Price: $25 race fee. Shirt not guaranteed after April 16th, but we may have extras.
All registrations received by April 16th will include an iKnight 5k swag bag. We will offer an iKnight 5k t-shirt as our race swag. We will ship these bags to your physical address provided in the registration (no P.O. Boxes). We will offer pick up dates at the school, dates April 22nd- 23rd, 11a-4pm.
Deadline to enter your results is April 30th. Send us a picture of you wearing your race swag to nlhsknightspto@gmail.com and we will post it on our social media.
Donations: Checks made payable to NLHS PTO can be mailed to North Lincoln High School PTO, Attention: Treasurer, 2737 Lee Lawing Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
