Running with Nicki 5k Run

On August 11, 2013 Nicki Nicole Locklear was in a fatal car accident, leaving behind a beautiful young 3yr old boy named Ethan Dale Pate (Lil E). Nicki's goal in life was to provide the best educational opportunity for her son as she possibly could. To carry out her legacy, a group of Nicki's closest friends wanted to do something to help Lil E. And what better way to help other than doing what she loved which was running. For our first year we sponsored Lil E and raised enough funds to complete our goal. So we decided as a group what a great way to continue Nicki’s legacy by help other children who lost parents at such as young age. As a committee we founded the Running with Nicki Foundation. Each year we will select a child who has recently lost a parent due to fatality or even sickness just to help them in their future. The proceeds from this 5K will go into a secured trust for the sponsored child to help them financially with his education as they get older. The 2015 recipient is Jack Bradley Carter son of the Late Robeson County Deputy Brad Carter and Shannon Brayboy.
