BELIEVE RUN 5K

On September 24, 2016 at 9:00 AM the BELIEVE RUN 5K will be held in Marion, NC at Tom Johnson’s Camping World. This will be a super flat and fast course great for a PR. The course will travel around the property of Tom Johnson’s, the campsites, and near the Catawba River as the cooler weather and fall leaves appear for the season. The course will be marked. Volunteers and an aid station will be on the course.

In August of this year, Shane Wyatt, a loving husband to Terra, and father to Zane and William, lost his life tragically while his family was vacationing in Atlantic Beach. The BELIEVE RUN 5K is a benefit to help this young family. All proceeds from this event will go towards helping Terra and their sons. This event is presented by Terra Wyatt’s coworkers and the boys’ school family from Nebo Elementary School. We BELIEVE the inner strength and faith of Terra’s family will help them through any obstacles they face. Everyone is invited to make and carry BELIEVE posters.

The cost for the 5K is $25. All participants registered by September 10th are guaranteed a BELIEVE RUN t-shirt. Those that register after this date will receive a shirt based on first come basis.

This is a timed event by Event Mercenaries. The overall top 3 male and top 3 female winners will receive a medal. The top 3 male and female in the following age groups will also receive a medal: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Awards will begin following the FUN RUN at the pavilion stage. 

We will also have a BELIEVE FUN RUN. This will be approximately a mile long. The FUN RUN participants will receive a t-shirt. The cost for the FUN RUN is $10.  The fun run is not timed and will begin after the 5K is complete. If you don’t want to participate in the run/walk events you can still purchase a shirt only for $8.  Select the shirt only option. 

Hot dogs, drinks, and other treats will be available for purchase during the event. Any extra shirts will be available for purchase on the race day.

Pack it pick up will be from 7:45-8:45 Saturday morning before the race under the pavilion.

Directions:
From Asheville: Take Interstate 40 to exit 72 in Old Fort. You will stay on HWY 70 for approximately 9.4 miles. Make a right on Resistoflex Rd. Tom Johnson’s Pavilion and the starting line will be on the left.

From Hickory/Morganton: Take Interstate 40 to exit 86 onto NC 226 towards Marion. for .3 miles and make a right onto 226 S. In about a mile continue  onto US-221 byp N for approximately 5.2 miles. Turn left onto US 70 W. In about 1.6 miles turn left onto Resistoflex Rd. Tom Johnson's Pavillion and the starting line will be on the left.
