Bierathlon 2023 After Party

Place

807 Shepard St
Jaycee Park
Morehead City, NC US 28557

Description

For the first time since 2018, the Bierathlon is back! Hosted by Crystal Coast Wellness & Performance in Downtown Morehead City at Jaycee Park. All proceeds from this event benefit local Cancer Survivors enrolled at Crystal Coast Cancer Rehab in Morehead City, NC.

What in the world is a Bierathlon???
The "Bier" in "Bierathlon" is the German spelling of beer, the "athlon" is the two athletic events that you have to perform before receiving your beer. Participants will register for a wave of their choosing depending on how early they would like to start and/or when their friends want to wake up to do fitness on a Saturday morning.

Each wave will start promptly at Jaycee Park on Spin/Assault bikes for a 30 minute spin class lead by an Exercise Specialist on staff at Crystal Coast Wellness & Performance. Both the playlist and the ride program will be created to set the mood and intensity of the event.

After cycling class, participants will depart Jaycee Park on foot and head to the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Via the Bridge, runners will finish at AB Bottle Co. on the Atlantic Beach Causeway.

AB Bottle Co. and event staff will be there waiting to greet you with your beer!

Start: Jaycee Park on the Morehead City Waterfront
Finish: AB Bottle Co. in Atlantic Beach

Registration Cost: $35.00 per participant (includes post-run beverage and a keepsake shirt)

We are currently planning on 4 waves of 10 participants. Should the need arise, we are open to adding additional waves.

Wave Start Times:

  • Wave 1: 8:00am
  • Wave 2: 8:30am
  • Wave 3: 9:00am
  • Wave 4: 9:30am

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time to collect your shirt. Feel free to ask to borrow our scissors to cut off sleeves or collars or our markers to draw on it! Participants are required to adorn their figures with this shirt while participating in the event to increase your visibility when running.

All the proceeds from this event benefit Crystal Coast Cancer Rehab in Morehead City, NC. Crystal Coast Cancer Rehab Center is a non-profit program that was created in 2018 by Jayme Limbaugh in memory of her grandmother, Virginia Jayne, a strong woman who fought breast cancer in 1989 before passing away. Out of the lingering pain from the loss of her grandmother, Jayme made the decision to change lives and created the Crystal Coast Cancer Rehab Center solely to assist cancer survivors in any stage of their diagnosis or recovery.

After attending a program established by the University of Northern Colorado, Jayme brought her knowledge back to the Crystal Coast and developed the program from the ground up. Always referencing existing resources or attending new seminars, Jayme altered the program. She test ran it, and then altered the program once more to fit the needs of our community, making it now the most cohesive exercise rehabilitation center for oncology patients in North Carolina.

For more information on our non-profit please visit: NCCancerRehab.org

Please note that this is not a timed event and purely for fun and fundraising.

All participants are responsible for finding their own transportation back to their vehicles parked in Downtown Morehead City.
