Description
The 2020 public health crisis COVID-19 has affected so many of us all. Your friends at First United Methodist Church know that our community needs light in a time of uncertainty this year more than ever. The Night of Light has been a source of light in your life since 2012, and this year will not be an exception. This year, we want to continue to be a source of light in our community.
Instead of taking a time out for 2020, the Night of Light is going virtual, except this won't be just any ole virtual race!
The Night of Light Virtual 5K Event is FREE!!!
The Night of Light is a community event geared toward giving families a fun activity to participate in together, celebrating the holiday season while benefiting local nonprofit organizations.
This year we invite you to register for the FREE Night of Light Virtual 5K, complete the 5K anywhere, run anytime during December, snap a picture of you wearing your FREE Night of Light Virtual 5K shirt tagging us at First United Methodist Church and the Night of Light and use the hashtag #NOLVirtual5K.
We will host a T-Shirt pick up at FUMC the first Saturday in December under the drive-up canopy at the back of the church. In exchange for your race shirt, we ask that you bring a canned good(s) or non-perishable(s) that we can donate to the local food pantry in need. May we all shine a light in this time of uncertainty.
Please sign up by November 5, 2020, so we can guarantee you a race shirt. More details will come regarding T-Shirt Pick Up in the weeks ahead.
The Night of Light is about community; it is about faith, it is about togetherness, it is about Christmas, it is about a spirit of giving, it is about love. We hope you will join us for the 9th Annual Night of Light, albeit different, the purpose is steadfast.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
