Description

This is our second annual Mardi Gras Mile that will take place on Saturday, Feb 10, 2024 at noon during the New Bern Mardi Gras Festival in Historic Ghent. This will give our racers a one-of-a-kind experience to run through the streets with the crowd lined up to cheer them on. Racers are encouraged to wear their best Mardi Gras Attire. Race information and runner registration will be through Run the East (runtheeast.com). 


Proceeds from this race will benefit the We Can Be Association. The We Can Be Association is a local non-profit organization that provides assistance for equipment funding, therapy scholarships, and family/caregiver education to exceptional children in Eastern NC. 

Registration: $20 per participant until 1/10/2024, then increases to $25 per participant until race day on 2/10/2024.

• 1st Overall Mardi Gras Attire, Male & Female
• 1st in Age Group, Male & Female:
Under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Giveaway: Race registration includes a customized Mardi Gras bead and a drink ticket.

Packet pick-up will be at the start line the day of the race starting at 11am. Same day registration closes at 11:45pm. 

There will be road closures due to the festival and parade. Parking is available at Temple Church (1500 Kingdom Way, New Bern) that can be best accessed from Rhem St.  Please allow yourself enough time to get to the start line. 

Once results are available following the race, awards will be announced at the main festival stage.
