Race Description/Details:
This 5K and 1 mile fun run, held in beautiful Oriental, North Carolina, is a fundraising event for the Bike Box Project. This 501(c)(3) is dedicated to raising funds to assist people locally with Parkinson’s Disease and for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research. The race will start at Village Health and Fitness on Broad Street. UPDATE: Please park at the old Town-N-Country, 1100 Broad St Ext, Oriental, which is right next to Village Health. Packet pickup will be held the morning of the event, inside Village Health and Fitness. There will be day-of registration, so bring your friends :)
The 5K course will take you over the Oriental bridge, and it is a simple out-and-back route, with a turnaround and water station at Horton Road. The 1 mile fun run route does not take you over the bridge, but still takes you through beautiful downtown Oriental. The turnaround point for the 1 mile fun run will be at the intersection of Broad and Neuse. The event will take place on Saturday morning, prior to the Ol' Front Porch music festival, which starts at 10am. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the sailing capital of North Carolina.
Registration Fees/Dates/Categories:
Registration for the 1 mile fun run will be $10. Registration for the 5K is $20 until October 1, at which point it increases to $25. Register for the 5K by September 5th to be guaranteed a race t-shirt.

Top 3 in the following age groups male and female (medals):
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over.
Course:
Course starts at Village Health and Fitness and travels straight over the bridge to turn around near Horton Road. The route can be viewed on Strava:
