Description

**Due to the uncertainty of Hurricane Florence’s trajectory and impact in our area, the Chatham County Alzheimer’s 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 15th is cancelled. Unfortunately, there is no rain make-up date for this event. However, all money raised from your race registration will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association.** We welcome you to pick up your race day bag and race day t-shirt from the Duke Center for Living at Fearrington beginning Monday, September 17th – Sunday, September 23rd. Please visit, dukefitnessfearrington.com for hours. Thank you for joining us in support of the Alzheimer’s Association this year! We will e-mail you in spring 2019 for a special sign up offer when we open registration for the Chatham County 9th Annual Alzheimer’s 5K Walk/Run, scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2019. We hope you save the date and join us next September.

 

The 8th Annual Chatham County Alzheimer’s Walk and 5K Run will be held Saturday, September 15, at Galloway Ridge at Fearrington in Pittsboro. The event has something for the whole family, including a Fun Run for children ages 3-13. Enjoy food, vendors and live music, featuring Carolina Lightnin' with Tommy Edwards. Pre-registration opens June 1. Onsite registration begins at 7:00 am on event day. The Fun Run kicks off at 8:00 am and the 5K Run and Walk begins at 8:30 am.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research in North Carolina, nationwide, and globally.  Here in North Carolina, the Alzheimer’s Association has been dedicated to serve the 170,000 North Carolinians diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and/or its related dementias, their caregivers, and families.  Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all those affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Race Packet Pickup - Friday, September 14

Early race packet pickup will take place at the Duke Center for Living at Fearrington on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 3 to 7 pm. Race packets not collected on Friday will be available on the morning of the race at the registration area.
