Description
The Reindeer Run 5k is a long standing community event held in Pittsboro, North Carolina. With a start and finish at Central Carolina Community College, the race takes you around the campus, into downtown, and then back again.
The race is a wonderful blend of competitiveness and fun! Our more serious runners take off immediately, following the marked course to complete the USATF Sanctioned race. Other runners enjoy dressing in holiday costume to complete the run. The race is great for all ages and we also offer a separate "Fun Run (Rudolph)" for younger kids.
A real family event with proceeds funding a Physical Activity Grant to support people getting active in Chatham County!
Awards will be given in the following categories: Individual Overall, Individual age groups, and Teams.
Just like every other year of the Reindeer Run, you can participate in the 5K as an Individual or Team. We also have a category for "School Teams". This is reserved for groups from our local schools (including students and staff). Parents can register with their child(ren) in this group.
Teams consist of 5 persons or more. Team time will consist of the fastest three times on the Team added together.
TEAMS: You can register all your members at once (with one credit card) or one by one (with separate credit cards). To set up your team, select Teams on the left and then Register & Create a Team. For your first Registrant, click “Team 5K” as your event. Then click the red “Team” button and create a Team name. From there, either complete your registration for your first member, or choose Add Another Registrant to register more team members. For team members registering separately after the Team has been created: Choose “Team 5K” as your event. To the right of the Team 5K event, click the “Team” button to search for your Team’s name.
***If you are a School Team, be sure to register for THAT event, not the regular Team registration.
We will again be offering Rudolph's Fun Run in 2024! We are encouraging families to get out and be active. This is a short course that remains on the CCCC campus for its duration and ends with Rudolph and his helpers awarding the finishers with their own Reindeer Run medal!
For ease of registration we are encouraging people to use our online system.
Shirts are guaranteed only to participants who register by 11/18/24. Shirt sizes cannot be exchanged or changed after this date.

Early Packet Pickup and Race Day Packet Pickup
EARLY PACKET PICK-UP
Packets are provided for 5K (Individual, Team, and School Team) runners only. Rudolph’s Family Fun Run participants can pick up their race shirts at this time as well.
Early Packet pick up will be December 11th and 12th from 5-7 pm at Central Carolina Community College, Building 41 (these dates and time may be adjusted based on room availability and registrations. Email updates will also be sent prior.
Teams: Please be prepared to pick up packets for your whole team at one time. We highly encourage teams to pick up packets during early packet pickup.
