Description
The 2nd Annual Sylvan Heights Bird Park Fly for 5 Run will wind through the Park and surrounding area to provide a one of a kind race experience. During your race you will will pass lush aviaries that include some of the rarest birds from around the world. Your cheering squad will include flamingos, ducks, geese, swans, peacocks, and even an emu! After the 5k race there will be a non competitive family fun run/walk. The race will help to raise critical funds to support the education and conservation efforts of Sylvan Heights Bird Park.
The 5k route is a loop with limited rolling hills. Pathways will include paved trails, gravel paths, farm paths and paved roads. Because of the terrain of the event strollers will not be allowed in the 5k. They are permitted in the Fun Run/Walk. The Fun Run/Walk will begin at 8:45.
Packet Pick Up will be from 3-6pm at Sylvan Heights Bird Park on Friday, November 17, 2017 or on race day at the registration area beginning at 7am.
Drinks and refreshments will be available before and after the race at the hospitality area for all race participants.
Top three overall male and female finishers, and top three male and female finishers in each of the following age categories: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Walkers are invited to participate in the 5k and will be timed with all participants in their age group.
