Race Description:
Join us for the 2nd Annual Miles for Mammos, a meaningful community 5K Run and 1-Mile Run/Walk dedicated to raising awareness, supporting early detection, and supporting breast health in our community.
Whether you are a seasoned runner, a casual walker, a breast cancer survivor, someone currently fighting breast cancer, or walking in honor or memory of a loved one, every step you take helps make a difference.
All proceeds from Miles for Mammos will benefit Dosher Memorial Hospital and support the advancement of breast health services within our community. Your participation helps ensure continued access to quality, compassionate care and reinforces the importance of early detection.
This event is especially meaningful to Dr. Sherrie G. Cass, DNP, FNP-C, founder of Live Oak Med Spa and a breast cancer survivor, who understands firsthand the life-changing impact of routine mammography, early diagnosis, and the support of a caring healthcare community.
Event Highlights:
- Timed 5K Run begins at 9:00am (must be checked in by 8:30am)
- Family-friendly 1-Mile Walk begins at 9:15am (1M walk/fun run is not a timed event)
- Breast cancer survivor recognition
- Commemorative race shirt (while supplies last)
- Custom race medal for participants
- Music, community spirit, and a celebration of resilience and hope

Registration Details:
- 5K Early Bird (by September 17, 2026): Adults: $40
- September 18, 2026: Adult registration increases to $45
- October 1, 2026, Final price increase—Adults $50
- Register by September 17, 2026, to guarantee your event t-shirt! (sizes XS-2XL only)
- Virtual participation $60 (includes shipping and handling of race swag)

- No parking in the Dosher Emergency Department lot (located at E. 9th & N. Howe)

- Friday, October 16, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Live Oak Med Spa (5130 Southport Supply Rd, SE STE 101-2, Southport NC 28461)
- Saturday, October 17, from 7:30-8:15 am, Registration Table back of Dosher Hospital near (Start/Finish Line)

Parking Info: Race Participants
A. Runners may use the Dosher Memorial “overflow” parking lot that is located at North Howe Street and Fodale Ave. Enter the lot on Fodale Ave, directly across from the main hospital entrance, and across the street from the Southport Fire Station.
B. Runners may parallel park along Howe Street, unless otherwise indicated.
C. Runners may parallel park along N. Atlantic Ave. behind the hospital, or in the gravel parking lot at N. Atlantic and 8th Street.
Parking: Vols, Vendors, Race Com
Volunteers:
A. Volunteers may park at 905 N. Howe Street, the offices of Dr. Newsom, Minor, and Jeff Martin, PA-C. Use the parking lot behind the clinic office and the gravel lot at the corner of W. 9th and N. Howe Street.
Race Committee:
B. Race Committee can park in the parking lot of the Dosher Medical Clinics in the Atlantic Ave. Medical Park, 419-423 North Atlantic Ave.
Vendors:
C. Vendors may park alongside the helipad behind Dosher Hospital. These are the spots between the chain link fence and Atlantic Ave. These spots are in convenient proximity to where the vendor set up area is.
