Description
This Juneteenth week help us celebrate the 154rd anniversary of the day enslaved black people in Galveston, Texas, became Americans under the law and has become an observance of the end of slavery in the US. Freedom is a journey we take together as a country, and this race is a reminder of our commitment together. Organized by the Jackson County NAACP, this race in Mark Watson Park is a fundraiser for students scholarships. This race has a 1 mile fun walk and a virtual bike race that you can do too! You can register on the day of the race on site starting at 8 am.
