Description
Race Information: Course runs from Macedonia United Methodist Church to the Randolph/Montgomery County Line and back. Entry fee is $20 for registrations through 3/31; $25 for registrations 4/1 – 4/7. Everyone is guaranteed a t-shirt, BUT, to be guaranteed a t-shirt by race day, you must be registered by 3/31. Walkers and strollers welcome; be courteous of runners. No pets, please. Rain or shine – no make-up date.
Registration: Register using this form or online at sportoften.com (a small processing fee is charged for registrations made through sportoften.com). A registration form is needed for each participant. Those who are registered by 3/31 will receive a goodie-bag containing a t-shirt and other items. These bags may be picked up on race day, between 7:30 am - 8:45 am.
Awards: NEW for 2018! Medals provided by Kovack Pottery, Seagrove, NC. Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place female and male runners overall. Additionally, medallions will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place female and male runners in each age category.
The Awards Ceremony will be held after the race at approximately 10:30.
Age categories: 10 -14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+
Ages 1 – 9 will receive participation medals
Proceeds: All proceeds of this 5K fundraiser will support “Pennies for Pigs”, a mission project started nine years ago by the youth of Macedonia United Methodist Church in the Abner Community. Since 2016, the proceeds of the Pennies for Pigs mission project have benefited “Faith in Vision”, a local non-profit based out of Seagrove that sponsors needy children at Christmas in the three-counties of Randolph, Montgomery and Moore. This 5K was started in 2013 as a school project for one of the youth members of Macedonia UMC. The youth are continuing this 5K in order to fund their missions outreach.
