Run the oldest 3-bridge 10K on the east coast! This is the 38th annual event!

The 10k course runs over the Memorial Bridge and across two more bridges before finishing on Water Street with a 1/3 mile flat and fast run to the finish! You'll also have a short loop down Battleship Road where you'll run in front of the Battleship USS North Carolina and take in the view of downtown Wilmington across the Cape Fear River - very picturesque. After crossing the Isabella Holmes Bridge, the course takes advantage of Wilmington's scenic Riverwalk. There will be extensive coning on the race course so you'll run safe and fast over the bridges. You know it’s going to be HOT so take the challenge with the humidity, heat, and hills of Wilmington!

The 5k course is point-to-point course starting at the Battleship and ending downtown. The race will provide shuttle/transport to the start line. 5k participants now will experience 2 of the 3 bridges of the 10k course - as well as the scenic downtown Riverwalk.

Presented by our friends at Maus, Warwick, Matthews, and Co.

Wheel chair pushing athletes and athletes of ALL ABILITIES are welcome!!

Participants meet twice a week over a 12 week period and are led by three certified personal trainers through a well rounded program that includes a cardio, strength, and stretching/relaxation component, in a welcoming and supportive environment. The Y is honored to welcome and include cancer survivors and their families to our YMCA!

Tri-Span is part of the year-long Coastal Carolina Run Series!

This yearlong series consists of 9 races across Coastal Carolina including a family-friendly beach obstacle course, 10k road runs, 1 mile fun runs, and the traditional 5K distances. Participation is the key! The more races you run, the more the muscles burn, the faster the legs turn, the more points you earn! Runners are automatically entered into the series after their 2nd race and runners must participate in 3 of the 9 races in the series to be eligible for prizes. The 5k course is a point-to-point course. It will start at the Battleship, cross over two of the three bridges that are featured in the 10k, and finish in downtown! 5k participants will be provided with shuttle & parking information closer to race date. Depending on construction and downtown Wilmington needs, there might be slight changes to the course. Stay tuned for updates!

A Wilmington favorite, featuring three bridge crossings, but updated again in 2019 to feature Wilmington's Riverwalk and work with ongoing construction efforts downtown. This course addition has allowed us to reduce mileage along Battleship Rd, which was an especially grueling feature of this 10k course. 7am start helps to beat the heat, but, Wilmington loves this race as it is truly a well-earned finisher medal!

While the courses are carefully measured, they have not yet been USATF certified. The last several years we've seen ongoing, planned construction in the downtown Wilmington area and we anticipate additional route changes next year.

Depending on construction and downtown Wilmington needs, there might be slight changes to the course. Stay tuned for updates!

5k Race Parking & Shuttle Information

5k shuttles will run from the downtown race start area beginning at 6am and take participants to the start line. There will be no post race shuttle back to the Battleship. Therefore, if you plan to park there you will need to arrange for transportation to pick up your vehicle post race. We strongly suggest that you take advantage of the complimentary pre-race shuttle service. Last shuttle will leave downtown at 6:20am. Please do not wait until the last shuttle as we will not be able to fit all participants in the final shuttle run.

Guaranteed Tshirt Sizes if you register by July 1st. If you register after that...don't worry...we'll have plenty of shirts as we always want to give away as much SWAG as possible, but we can't guarantee your preferred style or size.  Photo coming soon!

Finisher Medals for ALL Participants! (Image not to scale!)
