With Fleet Feet’s Training Program, you’ll follow a holistic training plan designed to help you build the habits, mindset and fitness you need to cross the finish line feeling strong and empowered.
Training for a full or half marathon isn't just about logging miles. It’s about facing challenges, tackling different types of runs, building strength and making space for rest and recovery.
With our program, you’ll connect with other runners, grow together and benefit from expert Fleet Feet running coaches every step of the way.
Kick-off Meeting: Tuesday September 15th 6PM at Fleet Feet Winston-Salem
First Group Practice: Saturday September 19th
Group Practices: Tuesdays 6PM, Saturdays 7AM
Race Date: YMCA Mistletoe Half Marathon, Saturday December 5th
Most training runs should feel easy and conversational. Not every run should be fast. Easy runs help build endurance while reducing the risk of burnout and injury. Speed workouts and race pace runs are usually only a small part of the program.
Absolutely! This training program is beginner-friendly. It is designed for runners starting with little or no racing experience. The key is building mileage gradually and staying consistent.
we build our runners up to a long run of 10–12 miles before race day. You do not always need to run the full 13.1 miles in training to be ready for the race.
