Komen Northwest NC Race for the Cure®

Race Basics

The Race for the Cure is our major fundraising event of the year that celebrates survivorship; honors those who have lost their battle, and most importantly raises funds and awareness for the fight against this life threatening disease. The Race is a 5K with an optional shorter family route. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, even in the event of inclement weather.

The CENTER for DESIGN INNOVATION is a multi-campus research center of the University of North Carolina system. Part laboratory, part workshop and part convening space, the Center is a visual gateway to a newly emerging Winston-Salem and the greater Piedmont Triad Region. Located in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, the Center is a new kind of incubator engine powering people across a region long known for its innovations in manufacturing and the arts, the Center works broadly with academic, business, and local community organizations along with its founding partners Winston-Salem State University; UNC School of the Arts; and Forsyth Technical Community College.

January- Registration Opens

5/2/2018 - Team Deadline (Team members are welcome to register for teams after Wednesday, May 2nd.  However, those individual’s packets may not be included with the team packets when team captains pick up.  If their packet information is not included, we ask that those individuals pick up their packets at Individual Packet pick up)

5/3/2018 - Online Registration Closes

Team Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup is at the the corner of Cloverdale and Medical Center Blvd.  The location is 2060 Cloverdale Avenue, Winston-Salem NC 27103

Team Packet Pick up: 

Thursday, May 3rd from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM
Friday, May 4th from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM
Individual Packet Pickup

Fundraising Drop-Off
Cash, checks (made payable to Komen Northwest NC), Visa and MasterCard accepted. Donations can also be made online, mailed to 1106 Burke Street, Winston-Salem NC 27101 (please include a Fundraising Form), dropped off at the Affiliate Office (1106 Burke Street, Winston-Salem NC 27101) or collected day of the Race at the fundraising table. For any questions regarding fundraising drop off please call the office at 336-721-0037.

9:30 a.m. Timed Runners and Non-Timed Runners Start

Important Additional Information
*Event is held regardless of weather
*Due to insurance please leave your pets, bicycles, skates, skateboards, and scooters at home
*Stroller and joggers are welcomed however please try to lineup near the back of the pack
*Don't forget your cash to purchase Komen Merchandise and other goodies
*Komen Northwest NC encourage you to bring your water bottle to help our Race go Green. Water will provide hydration stations through out the Race and Celebration areas.
*Please make sure your belongings are well labeled.
*T-Shirts for registered participants are available on a first come, first served basis.  Only the first 1,500 Race registrations are guaranteed a shirt.
